Is my BYD vehicle affected by this recall?

If your vehicle is affected by a recall, you will be contacted directly by BYD or your authorised BYD dealer. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) with your nearest BYD dealer to confirm whether your vehicle is included.

How will I know if my vehicle is affected by a future recall?

BYD will notify affected vehicle owners by mail. We also recommend keeping your contact details up to date with your selling dealer and signing up to our newsletter to receive the latest updates from BYD Auto NZ.

Shark 6 safety recall: spare wheel lifter assembly

BYD Auto New Zealand has announced a safety recall affecting certain BYD Shark 6 vehicles produced between 25 September 2024 and 23 May 2026.

A potential issue has been identified with the spare wheel lifter assembly which, in certain circumstances, may result in the spare wheel becoming detached from the vehicle. BYD will replace the spare wheel lifter assembly with an updated design free of charge.
